Cafe Soda in Munich

Unfriendly waiter, you feel like you are unwelcome. EAT!!! Is there even a kitchen inside ??! Nothing tastes good at all. Too bad.

Super rude service. As a customer, you regularly don't feel welcome. It's good that there is no shortage of alternatives in the area. Again, the location is very good.

The food and the service are very bad !! The waiter is unfriendly and they don't give any importance to the customer satisfaction .

Was there a while ago, it has so impressed itself that I only now dare to write a review. Rarely experienced such unfriendly staff. It can be that you have stress, but you really shouldn't let that out on the customer. Especially not when it is Corona and you walk around without a mask. Vl. Corona is an apprenticeship and the restaurant learns to give the customer a little respect again.

One single disaster. Unfriendly would be a compliment. Stay away and go to the smaller shops in the area.

The owner does not care about the costumers and no respect. The food was even worse! Please consider another restaurant if your respect your dignity.

I went there for breakfast and had a good experience. I sort of get it what other people are complaining about the service, it is a bit 'interesting'. But my experience was not exactly negative so i won't reduce points for that. I liked this place and want to go here again.

The service is awful. We were served by the waiter that was forgetting our orders all the time and we had to ask twice to bring us what we ordered. At the end, he through at us the recite screaming that we didn’t pay the total amount, being rude and even though some of the people at our table wanted to stay longer and order more drinks he didn’t let them by saying that he wants another clients at this table.

I don’t recommend this place, we’ve been kicked out because of our appearance. The bar was mostly empty and the manager said that we are not allowed to sit without any explanation. The manager is a short bald guy and he was very rude person. This business will loose too much if such a disrespectful person is taking care of it. Do not go there if you are expat. Thanks.

3.5 stars: large selection, pleasant atmosphere, the food tastes good. But: stressed service staff, because there were two on Sunday lunchtime and therefore visibly overwhelmed with the rush that didn't want to tear off. As a direct consequence: long waiting times at the table. Better constant ventilation during the Corona period would not be wrong either.

The behavior of the boss !!!!!! Boss his statement: I can afford to be rude because people come one way or another because the location is so good ...

Good Burgers Try the Burgers which are big and filling....do some sport before to keep your body fit ;-)

Ate fried potatoes there today. The potatoes were cold. When we let them go back, they came back just as cold but were again really nicely bathed in the oil. Actually inedible ... The staff was also very rude ....

So far, I couldn't understand the bad reviews. Hopefully it will stay that way :) Service was good, staff were nice, food was good. The food was always a bit late, but forgiven immediately given the great location.

Im not one for reviews but this one has to go out. Rude waiters over the top for real. The guy left us waiting for like 20 minutes before we could even order something to drink. In the meantime he just served stuff for people he knew sitting right next to us. Carbonara and the Caesar Salad were quite good...so that's a star. There's actually this ?croatian? guy around making an exception when it comes to service. Very friendly and competent waiter! There's so many nice bars just a few meters away..I'd consider checking them out :)

The apple crumble cake was unspectacular, we had to wait 10 minutes for the drinks. waiting. The employees are generally not nice, seem very disinterested and don't really want to meet new customers. The only good thing is the location.

Very trendy bar, always busy with young people but exclusively so. Beer comes in 400ml size.

I was there today with my big dog and was warmly welcomed. She got water right away. The food was delicious and the great service would be happy to come back

Average bar, average food and outdoor seats right next to the street.

At the beginning very nice and courteous, in the course of the evening the orders came clearly late, the staff became more and more arrogant and to top it off you were only looked at questioningly if you had a tip of over € 5. At first I would have said again and again ... but now, probably never again ...

The cocktails were really good, our waiter was funny and nice, but another waiter (who had nothing to do with us) with blonde hair tips apeded me when I (completely normal) laughed and found himself very funny. As the owner, I would rethink him if he deals with customers like that, otherwise it was nice.

Unfortunately, the service didn't convince me at all. A woman who might have been a kind of boss didn't wear any mask, not just pulled down, but none at all. In addition, she chased the other employees around imperiously while she was constantly staring into her iPhone and always ruthlessly slammed the door of the closet right behind me, so that I was always shocked. Another waiter only looked at his mask as a chin guard. It all made me feel really uncomfortable at first. The service itself was unfortunately rather of the unreliable kind, even if it was very quick as soon as the order was placed. The ambience was very nice, as good as it can be when everything is tight. The music was rather exhausting and consisted largely of German "rap". The food was very good, but unfortunately rather small for the price. For a falafel bowl, there were far too few falafels for my taste. Overall, especially now in the Corona time, not to be recommended.

When asked about gluten-free food, it was recommended not to eat anything here, it was the wrong place for it. The ordered Spezi was unfortunately sold out. The aperol was em gross. :) P.s .: That wasn't a roasted cucumber.

Best Place

I've now given the store two chances and twice I've been disappointed. Unfriendly service who also complained because they didn't have the card reader with them when paying. Bad service is very important here. Can't recommend SODA to anyone!

Was there for breakfast 20 times in the last 5 years. From now on I will not go there again due to the regularly unfriendly service. That doesn't have to be the case in Germany either. Now it's just over for me. You are not forced to work in service. In the end, it's just bad leadership.

Too bad I cannot give 0 stars. Worst experience I had a long time in a restaurant! One of their waiters was so rude, we decided to leave.

Poor service

After we had to wait a long time for the menu and then to order, I asked the waiter to be able to pay immediately. There were a few inappropriate comments from him on a personal level. We always enjoyed going to SODA, but since dealing with guests like that is not acceptable to me, we will opt for other locations in the future.

I think waiters are rude. last time I was there I gave 3 euro tip and the waiter said that I was very greedy. he said that straight to my face and I think it’s unacceptable for a place like this.

Good location and large Menu! Enjoy!

Sometimes top and sometimes flop Unfortunately, the quality of the food and the service is very much a matter of chance. There are days when you are greeted with a smile and spoiled with delicious food and then there are days when you feel like you are in a company canteen. Noodles and pizzas are usually good and there are also strawberry juice spritzers that are rarely offered in other restaurants.

Fantastic place. It has a super good atmosphere and unlike most restaurants, Soda has a huge variety of food options. They also offer breakfast all day.

[Update] went back again and waiter was different but still rude and impatient. Of course it was packed and they weren't doing distancing properly. Very unsafe and unacceptable. Staff was awful and rude. I first found a hair in my carrot soup, thought it was an accident and didn't complain and finished the soup, then found a second hair in my tagliatelle and told the server. I wasn't asking for free food, just an explanation. He said 'I know students don't have money but if you find the hair tell us right away'. He offered us a dessert or drink for free, but no apology. Great drinks though.

Worst staff and service ever! Wouldn't recommend to anyone going here!

Place of this cafe is good! Otherwise, just an OK place with average service! Food can be better.

Soda is good. Spending an evening with coffee, in their seating area outside feels nice.

Food is meh and service really dependent on the day and staff you get. Go to Zeitgeist just around the corner, the food and service are better.

We had to move tables 2 times because one of us was "in the way" and the food got my stomach really upset for two days. Also had to wait ages to get a menu and the order taken. Won't come back.

Terrible service! In the 1 hour that we where there we saw one of the service team member not serve a single client. Drinks that we ordered where frequently forgotten (too much team chatting). Food was OK! Due to the bad service we were simply frustrated ... ate our food .... then went somewhere else.

Just an OK place with average service. The drinks were below average for the price and mine was 65% ice. Can’t really say anything about the food since we didn’t order any. Won’t be coming for drinks ever again.

Very mediocre place. Watery cocktails and poor service. Would not recommend... Also, plastic straws in 2019? Really?!

Really rude and not caring about customers.

The burger was very dry and the risotto tasted like nothing. But the worst was the service. We had to wait 30min until we only got the menu. Then we had to to ask 6 times to get the bill. When we got the bill, the waiter was yelling at us, that we need to hurry as he needs the table for other guests. Would never go there again and seriously the worst service I experienced in Munich.

I can recommend this place. The food and the cocktails are good, I especially love the breakfast here (which is available from 8 in the morning til midnight, a rare thing in Germany!). The restaurant is clean and looks nice, the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Sitting outside is especially nice during the summer here.

Kind of an average place. Good location and easy to get drinks but there are far more interesting places.
